Course Overview
This course covers all necessary material for a student to install and manage an installation of VISI Compass Technology – Automatic 2.5D Machining. Students will learn how to:
- Establish a company-wide tool library
- Define a set of company-wide manufacturing standards for all machining operations
- How to program the standards into VISI such that they are used by all production NC programmers
- Create templates for plate machining and maintain them in a standard company-wide library for other production NC programmers to use
- Operate in an integrated environment where VISI Progress and/or VISI Mold are being used in the design environment
Prerequisites
- Students must have previously taken the VISI Modeling class
- 80 hours of experience working with the VISI Modeling system
- Possess a working knowledge of CNC milling machines and NC programming
