Course Overview

This course covers all necessary material for a student to install and manage an installation of VISI-Series Compass Technology (automatic feature-based 2-1/2D machining - not to be confused with Compass Technologies). Students will learn how to:

• Establish a company-wide tool library.
• Define a set of company-wide manufacturing standards for all machining operations,
• How to program the standards into the VISI-Series such that they are used by all production NC programmers.
• Create templates for plate machining and maintain them in a standard company-wide library for other production NC programers to use.
• Operate in an integrated environment where VISI-Progress and/or VISI-Mold are being used in the design department.

This is a hands-on class.

Prerequisite

Students must have previously knowledge of VISI-Modeling and have at least 80 hours of hands-on experience, and have a working knowledge of CNC milling machines and NC programming.
