VISI-Progress for Tool & Die
CAD, CAM, & Forming Analysis Developed for Tool & Die
When it comes to designing, analyzing, and/or machining dies, nobody does the job better, or faster, or at a lower manufacturing cost than VISI-Progress ...
... No matter what!
Customers report design times cut typically by 50% compared to 2D Autocad, and cut 33% compared to parametric CAD systems.
The First CAD/CAM System to Implement Parasolid
It started with the VISI-Series being the first (1994) CAD/CAM/CAE system to implement the Parasolid kernal. (Read More.) Designed for tool and die, VISI-Progress still leads all other systems in functionality for designing and manufacturing progressive, transfer, and deep draw dies.

CAD/CAM & Analysis – Designed for Toolmakers
VISI-Progress is not a "bolt-on." The modeling system and the tooling design front-end system are integrated – what's more so is the machining system and the sheet metal forming analysis system. Everything – is from one software developer – Vero International. So there is no finger pointing when things don't work right.
All Files Translate Into Native VISI-Files
Customer CAD files never need re-modeling. Translators for CATIA V4, V5, Unigraphics, Pro/E, Solidworks, Solid EDGE, Inventor, IGES, and STEP all yield native VISI files in solids. Designs begin immediately.
Five Levels of Sheetmetal Unfolding Technology
- Straight Bend Unfolding – When no drawing occurs except for gussets and stiffeners),
- Individual Surface Unfolding – Unfolds drawn models - one surface at a time,
- One-Step Unfolding – Uses mesh techology, unfolds entire parts, and trim lines are accurate to within a stock thickness. That means fewer wire burns to nail the trim line.
- Flange Unfolding – Uses mesh technology to unfold "partial" models.
- Flange Unfolding to a curved binder – Goes one step further for curved binders.
Integrated Machining and Manufacturing
When a die design is complete, Eight more menu picks can yield the complete NC program to machine the lower shoe - no matter the size. When a system includes design and machining capabilities - all from one vendor - integration is flawless, accuracy is highest, delivery is fastest, and profits are greatest.
Two Ways to Make Money - Increase Sales or Decrease Costs
VISI does both.
- It's Faster - Designs are completed faster using customer specified parametric templates. Machining starts sooner and is faster when integrated with design. in fact, when using VISI, manufacturing can start before designs are complete.
- It's More Accurate - Because VISI is hard programmed in C++ (no wizards, no macros, no scripts) the parametrics of a perfect die design are applied to every job consistently.
- It Costs Less - Not only is money saved in design and manufacture - VISI costs less too - less than half the cost of CATIA, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, and Solidworks configurations.
