Design Tools for Moldmakers

Specifically designed for mold design and manufacturing, VISI-Mold makes quick work of designs for all types of molds – plastic injection molds, blow molds, and compression molds.

Like all modules in the VISI-Series, VISI-Mold is integrated. That means more productivity through the integration of mold-specific CAD functions. They translate into reduced design time, faster production time, improved quality, reduced costs, and increased profitability. Built on a world-class 3D hybrid modeling system are mold-specific capabilities which include:

  1. Parting line and parting surface development – automatically – including the slides,
  2. Part analysis for checking draft and undercuts,
  3. Wizards for waterline development with clearance checking, lock development, and slide development,
  4. Injector pin generation and modeling,
  5. Plate set development based on standard catalogue parts (DME, Hasco, etc.) including pins & bushings,
  6. The library feature generates catalogue items such as cap screws, sprews, gates, and such from industry suppliers,
  7. VISI-Mold generates a feature-based design so plates can be automatically machined using VISI-Machining 2D and
  8. Integrated 3D multi-surface machining means core and cavity works starts immediately and completes quickly using VISI-Machining 3D.

VISI-Split

Core, cavity, and slide development is the job of VISI-Split. All you do is select the part and direction of pull. Then the system assists in collecting the undercuts into slide surfaces.

VISI-Electrode

Electrode development is a snap using the VISI-Electrode module. This unique command offsets the core and cavity surfaces to account for overburn and automatically resolves radii that collapse to zero. Then the system finishes off the electrode with a holder. Also, when using VISI-Machining, the surfaces can be modified for orbital toolpaths.

  2. True 3D free-form solid modeling so any part can be fixed for modeled from scratch - fast.
  3. Special functions make quick work of parting lines, core and cavity surfaces, and negative models.
  4. VISI-Machining 3D allows direct NC programming of patterns directly from 3D tool model file
