2D Machining
VISI-Machining’s 2D machining is not like the rest. Called “Compass Technology”, it doesn’t just do feature-based machining – it does automatic feature-based machining and its flexibility is unmatched. For example, if the software sees a 3/8 inch threaded hole then it fetches a users complete manufacturing process such as a spot drill, tap drill, tap cycle. What’s more, a manufacturing process can contain if-than-else conditional logic for special situations for things like carbide drills that are fast but limited in their depth.
Another dramatic advantage of automatic feature-based machining is the virtual elimination of mistakes – because the job is done totally – automatically – with computer accuracy.
3D Machining
VISI-Machining has everything the competition has – and then some. Going beyond parallel plane and constant-Z machining, VISI’s “Combo” toolpath does both jobs in one toolpath and makes no mistakes in the process. The “Normal-Stepover” toolpath dramatically improves quality by eliminating “witness” marks. If machining to design-intent is the goal, “ISO” toolpaths can be placed on individual surfaces with independent U-V coordinate systems, and machining can be placed on actual surfaces – not a mesh.
4- and 5-axis Machining
The elimination of labor is the goal in 5-axis machining – it eliminates setups. With toolpaths like “normal to a surface”, “swarfing”, “from-a-point”, and “to-a-point” VISI does it all. To ensure all toolpaths are gouge free, VISI-Machining gouge checks not only the tool, but the tool holder, and the entire CNC machine as well.
Wire EDM Machining
VISI-PEPS Wire is not like any other wire package. Automatic feature recognition automatically “finds” the wire pockets in a solid, creates the upper and lower quides, and connects them up for the user – all automatically. That means fewer mistakes, faster throughput, and lower costs.
