VISI-Series Education

VISI Basic Modeling - 5-days - $1,495

Course Overview

This course will focus on basic modeling capabilities in 2D and 3D wireframe, surfacing, and solids. This class will cover how to modify and create new geometry. The class then goes on to include VISI's advanced solid and surface modeling capabilities. Specific subjects include advanced surfacing, IGES file repair, and techniques in closing surface files into solid models. The class is recommended for all users of VISI-Series configurations.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this class, however students should have a basic understanding of engineering design, engineering drawing, and engineering methods.

VISI Mold Design - 3-days - $895

Course Overview

This course covers all aspects of the VISI-Mold suite of commands. This includes the development of parting lines and parting and slide surfaces. Also covered are plate set development; electrode model development for "sinker" and "orbital" electrode manufacturing; mold cavity analysis tools; and wizards for slide development, water line development, and ejector pin modeling.

Prerequisite

Students must have previously taken the VISI-Modeling class; have at least 80 hours of experience working with the VISI-Modeling system, and have a working knowledge of the design and manufacture of plastic injection molds, blow molds, compression molds, and/or die cast dies.

VISI Progress - 3-days - $895

Course Overview

This course covers all aspects of progressive die design including sheetmetal part unfolding, strip development, catalog part generation, die set development, and the development of punch and die-hollow geometries.

Prerequisite

Students must have previously taken the VISI-Modeling class; have at least 80 hours of experience working with the VISI-Modeling system, and have a working knowledge of the design and manufacture of progressive dies, transfer dies, deep draw dies, and/or any style of single station dies.

VISI-Machining 2D/3D - 3-days - $895

Course Overview

This course sequence covers all aspects of 2D and 3D machining. The first day presents the user interface, 2D CAD techniques for machining, and post-processing. The second day includes all aspects of 2D machining (profiles, pockets, slots, and drills) while the third day include all aspects of 3D multi-surface machining for mold makers, die makers, and production NC programmers.

Prerequisites

Students must have previously taken the VISI-Modeling class; have at least 20 hours of experience working with the VISI-Modeling system; and have a working knowledge of CNC milling machines and NC programming.

VISI-Machining 2D (with MFR) -
2-days - $595

Course Overview

This course focuses on all aspects of VISI's Manufacturing Specific Machining and the automatic creation of NC programs for plate sets. Students learn how to create and maintain die component catalogues and manufacturing standards databases, and how to automatically create NC programs from plates in a die-set that were designed using VISI-Progress.

Prerequisites

Students must have previously taken the VISI-Modeling class; have at least 80 hours of experience working with the VISI-Modeling system; and have a working knowledge of CNC milling machines and NC programming.

VISI Post Authoring - 1-day - $395

Course Overview

This course explains how to create new and modify existing post-processors for specific CNC controllers. This class is recommended for NC programmers who want to maintain exact control of the VISI-Machining module's creation of G-code.

Prerequisites

Students must have previously taken a VISI-Machining class or have a working knowledge of the subject.
